Generally the dutch rentalmarket can be divided in three segments:

1. Non-independent dwelling:
   Rooms, bedsits etc. that all share at least one of the major facilities (toilet-kitchen-bath) with another user. These types of properties are ment for students, young professionals etc. Rules about the height of the rent aswell as tenants rights and obligations can be found here. Advantage of this type of housing that you generally don't need a residence permit and are very flexible to move as rental contracts tent to have just one months notice. Price range generally from approx 350,- up to 650,-
   
   
2. Social housing:
   Independent housing with a bare rent up to € 710,68 (2016). This type of housing is allways in short supply on the market. 
   
   
3. Free market:
   Independent housing with a bare rent above € 710,68 (2016)
